The Road Less Traveled Story

This piece is a continuation of my "segmented ribbon" series. All of my previous ribbons were constructed from bottomless bowls with 45° wall angles. This piece is considerably more complicated as it required two different wall angles and two different bowl diameters.

The title, in part, refers to my own life as well as the life of my wife, Tere. We have both taken the "less traveled" road. The phase was "borrowed" from Robert Frost, one of America’s most beloved poets. The last couple of lines in his poem, "A Road not Taken" read,

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
